Locating Las Vegas’ Prime Attractions
Many Vegas Feature Attractions are located at the same venue. For example: Circus Circus has the following “Premium Rides”: Canyon Blaster, Rim Runner, Sling Shot, Chaos. Inverter, Laser Blast, SimEx Theater and several more.
Visit the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand – Real lions near the entertainment dome can be viewed daily during the hours your children would normally be awake. I love this attraction – although the lions spend most of their time sleeping. It’s FREE and will hold their interest for at least half an hour. There is even a glass enclosed pathway where you can usually walk directly under one of the slumbering giant cats! This is fun, but wears then after about half an hour. A good place to head for when you are looking for a bite to eat as there are many popular places to eat nearby.
CNN News: In the end, the frontier the USS Enterprise couldn’t breach was earthly: The attraction’s owner, Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., and the Las Vegas Hilton, its landlord, couldn’t agree on a new lease. They worked as a typical landlord and retail tenant, with Cedar Fair keeping all revenue from the attraction, said hotel spokesman Ira David Sternberg. The Star Trek Experience opened in 1998, and closed in 2008.
Note: The Star Trek Exhibit is rumored to be reopening in a new location in 2010.
Browse replicas of famous French Landmarks, including the Arc De Triomphe and the Hotel de Ville, as well as facades of the Paris Opera House and The Louvre. The 50 foot half scale Eiffel Tower has a glass elevator where you may ride to the top for a Spectacular View of the strip or enjoy lunch on the 11th floor restaurant. Another fun kids activity that will quickly fade as the “newness” wears off.
5 acres of fun: Circus Circus Adventure Dome – Sixteen rides and attractions, including the double-loop, double-corkscrew “Canyon Blaster” roller coaster. Probably the best known kids arcade and entertainment center on the strip. This is the most recommended first stop las vegas kids activity center. And while we think this is a great place to “play” for the kids, we are not really a big fan of the Hotel. Circus Circus hotel rates are often quite cheap – and not to disparage the property, but we believe you can find a much better place to stay nearby.
With heights of 203 feet, drops of 144 feet and speeds up to 67 MPH, this attraction adds new meaning to the phrase “let it ride!” It features the world’s first “heartline” twist and dive maneuver, allowing riders to experience the thrilling force of negative g’s! Simulating a barrel-roll in a jet fighter, it rolls 180 degrees, hangs 86 feet in the air, then dives back under itself- promising dizzying excitement and white-knuckle thrills! It might be a good idea to take your kids to lunch after this ride not before!
Midway games, rides and high-tech amusements fill this 28,000 sq foot complex.
Soar more than 100 floors above the Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and enjoy panoramic views of the shimmering Vegas Strip and nearby valley. Jutting 1,149 feet into the Vegas skyline, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest observation tower in the U.S. and one of the most exciting attractions among Vegas Strip hotels. But that’s just the beginning. Our exceptional Las Vegas hotel on the Strip also offers thrills you can’t find anywhere else, including international shops and one-of-a-kind rides that include:
Big Shot – Shoots passengers straight up 160 feet at 45 mph (over 4 Gs) until they are 1,081 feet above the Strip.
X-Scream – A giant teeter-totter that propels you 27 feet over the edge of the Tower, 866 feet above the ground.
Insanity, the Ride – A massive mechanical arm extends 64 feet over the edge of the Tower and spins you at a force of 3 Gs for a truly mind-bending experience.
Observation Deck – See Vegas from the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S.A.

Better off just walking around in the Forum Shops, hitting the pool, going golfing, and spending money on dining out. Vegas is overrated.
Thank you this an awesome. It’s nice to see the attractions and is helpful to use as we decide what to do on our up coming las vegas trip next month.
