Best Swimming Pools in Las Vegas For Kids
Las Vegas Hotels nearly all have swimming pools, but just having a pool doesn’t mean much unless it’s designed for the “experience”. MGM Grand has one of the best known pools – well 5 pools actually in their pool complex complete with waterfalls. You can read more about the MGM Grand Swimming Pool Complex below. We know of very few kids who don’t love to splash and play in the pool. If you choose to stay in a Resort with a ho-hum pool, be sure to bring along plenty of sunblock as many standard pools have very little shade.
Even the Resorts with the nicest pool areas would rather not have them. They are an amenity to get you into the Resort, but they can’t pry the money out of your wallet very easily if you are spending all your time at the pool. So be sure to check the sites of the Hotels you want to visit or plan on staying at for information on pool hours and seasons. It would be a shame to make a reservation at a place with a great pool and find out it’s closed for the season or not open during the hours you want to visit.
Tip: If you are not staying at one of these resorts, call ahead to see what CURRENT policy and pricing is for non guests using their pool facilities. Each Las Vegas hotel swimming pool has it’s own policy. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KIDS UNATTENDED AT THE POOL! Pools can be season and may not always be open! You may also find the water a bit chilly at some Hotels.
Popular Pools at the Big Vegas Resorts
Wave pool and river ride at Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay Beach Experience: Climate-controlled Poolside Gaming – Use this link then Click on “Beach” for a picture. We can not direct link to the page due to the site design which uses Dynamic Linking. Means nothing to you we know, but trust us on this, by linking this way the link won’t break. Families can enjoy waves up to 6 feet high, or take a lazy river ride through the resort’s 11 acre tropical water environment. Further enjoyment may be found on the sandy beach, three swimming pools or jogging track. Check with the Hotel to find out when guests are allowed to surf and boogie board. Our extended family loves to stay at Mandalay Bay because the kids love the pool areas.
Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo Amenities – Not many pictures of the pool area on their wite. Designed to refresh hotel guests, the 21,000 square-foot pool area at the Monte Carlo features 11,000 square-feet of cascading waterfalls, lush landscaping and crystal clear swimming pools. The pool area features the following amenities:
- Lagoon Pool – A classically-designed 1,900 sq. ft. swimming pool.
- Kiddie Pool – A 520 sq. ft. enclosed children’s pool.
- Spa – A private, heated spa with a 12 ft. diameter.
- Wave Pool – 4,800 sq. ft. pool features waves that reach 30″.
- Easy River Ride – 400 ft. of a slow-flowing river at speeds of 4mph.
MGM Grand Pool Complex
MGM Grand’s Grand Pool Complex: Your Own Island Getaway. What’s not to love? The Grand Pool complex is the most elegant swimming and sunbathing experience in the world (I took that right from the site!). The Las Vegas Swimming Pools experience you must visit to believe. The area features five swimming pools, three large whirlpools, a relaxing river, lush tropical landscaping, bridges, fountains and waterfalls. The complex is open year round with a minimum of one pool and one whirlpool available 7 days a week. This is our top choice for Kid Friendly Hotels, and the pool is just one of many reasons why.
The Mirage Pools
The Mirage Amenities – The lush, tropical pool area at The Mirage consists of two pools and encompasses a series of wandering, interconnected lagoons. Wander over one-quarter mile of shoreline, unwind in one of three Jacuzzis, enjoy a water-aerobics class or take a plunge into the clear water by way of one of three waterslides.
Lifeguards are on duty each day, and a complete staff of pool attendants is available to provide complimentary towels and lounge chairs. Pool rafts are available for rent, and complimentary life jackets are available for children. The Mirage pool area is open year-round, and hours of operation vary according to season.
Tropicana Pools
Cool off in the Tropicana Poolside Garden Oasis – five lush acres of pure paradise. Stretch out on a chaise lounge or enjoy the respite of the palm-shaded lawns as three sparkling swimming pools undulate among cascading waterfalls and towering rock formations. Lagoon Pool is Adults Only.
Luxor Pools
Luxor Amenities – Families can enjoy a typical poolside experience in one of Four Large Pools, or experience the invigorating sensations of relaxing in the Jacuzzis.
Other Great Vegas Swimming Pools
Enjoy these other terrific pool areas if you are a guest at one of these resorts. These resorts are not typically “Kid Friendly”… but children are welcome at these pools accompanied by an adult.
Wynn Las Vegas
We have not visited the Wynn Las Vegas pool area, but it’s rumored to be very good. Would you expect anything less? This is not a Kid Friendly resort, in fact if you are not a guest don’t bother bringing the kids here at all.
Venetian
Consistently voted one of the top 2 Resort Properties for Customer Service and Room Quality along with Bellagio – great pool area, but again not a Kid Friendly Resort.
Bellagio
What can we say about this 5 Star Resort that hasn’t already been said? The Bellagio has a reputation for excellence! So great in fact that it is actually hard to get a room unless you book way in advance or are a high roller. Definitely not a place for the kids (although the free Fountain Show and the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens – just past the lobby – are worthwhile visits for everyone). The pool area is a fantastic and relaxing retreat.
Caesar’s Palace
4 and half acre Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis with cabana rentals. Imagine three sapphire pools, two whirlpool spas all surrounded by lush green lawns, graceful fountains and classic marble statues. Phenomenal pool area!
