Keep in Mind as you are Comparing Kid Friendly Las Vegas Hotels
We’ve been around since 2000 and that’s not to toot our own horn… it’s so you’ll know that over the past decade we’ve witnessed a whole lot of changes in Las Vegas, talked with a lot of people, and rediscovered the axiom – “There is nothing as constant as change”. And while everything has changed over the years one thing, only one thing has remained constant. NOBODY EVERY COMPLAINS ABOUT QUALITY! And just because the Hotel allows children, doesn’t mean they are Kid Friendly. To date we have never received a message from someone saying how much they regretted staying at the Four Seasons for example. Yes it costs a bit more than the bargain places, but you are not just buying a room – you are buying a vacation experience of positive memories you can look back on for your lifetime. So shop for the best rate, compare hotel to hotel, but when you are ready to make your reservation remember what you just read – nobody complains about quality! Make your vacation memories happy ones!

Best Bang for the Buck in Las Vegas Hotels for Kids
2011 is going to be another down year for the Las Vegas Economy. And while you would think that room rates are plummeting… and they are to some extent, most Resorts are still well above the $100 per night range… especially on the weekends.
Why spend $100 plus a night on an “Average Hotel” property when you don’t have to? We have compiled our list of Budget Friendly Resorts that give you real value – BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.
Tip: Watch out for hidden fees like “Resort Fees”, “Internet Access Fees”, and taxes! Be sure to compare weekday rates to weekend rates, one Hotel may be a great value on the Weekdays then really jack up their rates on the weekends!
Wyndham Grand Desert Resort
- East of the Strip on Harmon Avenue
- User Rating: 4.0/5
Enjoy first class amenities at an affordable price at the Wyndham. Consistently rated above more known Strip Resorts the Wyndham offers a luxurious vacation experience for your family at more affordable prices. Located only a few blocks from the Strip on Harmen Avenue.
Testimonial – “Ive been reading the review of the family that stayed at this property by using thier Hilton timshare points. My wife and I felt the review was written from someone from Hilton Corp,(negative prop) We have Hilton ownership,….and if Hilton was half as nice as this place was for our stay we would have not booked here. Wish I could dump my Hilton crap and go to more places like the Grand Desert.”
Alexis Park Resort
- East of the Strip on Harmon Avenue
- User Rating: 3.9/5
Located several blocks east of the Strip on Harmon Avenue the distance from The Center Strip to the Alexis Park Resort is “walk able” it’s a very long and unpleasant walk. The advantage of this Hotel is Price and location for those who have cars. You can usually find parking behind the big strip resorts.
The Stratosphere Hotel
- North End of the Strip
- User Rating: 4.1/5
The Stratosphere is a very long and tiring walk to the center of the Strip. The “Value” of the price vs. amenities of the Stratosphere property is among the highest we know of… really tough to beat. This is probably the cheapest of the Las Vegas Hotels for Kids that we can recommend.
The Flamingo Hotel
- Ideally Located on the Center of the Strip
- User Rating: 3.8/5
The location of the Flamingo is outstanding. This is the perfect “Jumping off spot” to all the Strip Resorts.
Imperial Palace
- Ideally Located on the Center of the Strip
- User Rating: 3.5/5
The Imperial Palace is a smaller older property that gets overlooked.
Tropicana Resort Hotel
NOTE: The Tropicana has recently (2010) undergone a $165 Million Renovation!
- South Strip Location
- User Rating: 3.2/5
A good location for a budget hotel, but watch out for the “Resort Fee” when you are comparing prices
The Golden Nugget
- Downtown “Old” Las Vegas
- User Rating: 3.2/5
If you want to stay downtown near the Fremont Street Experience then the Golden Nugget should be your first choice. Nice property and excellent bang for the buck!
Rio Suites Hotel
- West of the Strip
- User Rating: 4.3/5
If you are looking for extra room for you and your family then this is the place for you. You could walk to the Strip from Here but it’s not an easy or pleasant walk. The Rio offers a free shuttle to The Strip. A lot of value for the dollar!
The Orleans
- West of the Strip
- User Rating: 4.5/5
With Rooms averaging 450 square feet and an easy drive (1.5 miles) into the heart of The Strip the value of the Orleans is no longer a secret. People seem to love the place for the money. If we were looking for a Las Vegas Hotel for Kids that was off “The Strip”, but not too far off this would be our recommendation. In fact if you plan on staying at the Orleans you need to book at least a few weeks in advance or you may not find rooms available.
Suncoast Hotel & Casino
- Summerlin Community (Far West of the Strip)
- User Rating: 4.5/5
Located out West of the Strip on the edge of Summerlin the Suncoast is a very nice property (We like to Bowl there) with a lot to offer the family who is not interested in the hustle and bustle of the Strip.
Our Top Recommended Las Vegas Kid Friendly Hotel for Families
If you value elegant, quiet, comfort in an upscale setting then there is only one place for you and your family to consider.
- The Four Seasons – Beautifully Appointed Rooms and Very Family Friendly

We believe Four Seasons in the Mandalay Bay complex is the single best destination Resort for family fun in Las Vegas. And we know it’s not the cheapest option. But it’s not as expensive as you might think. Rooms start at $169 per night. Guests staying at the Four Seasons have access to all the Amenities of the Mandalay Bay including the extremely popular Wave Pool. This is “The” best of the Las Vegas Hotels for Kids.
Guests arriving with children should notify the hotel before their stay so the younger set can receive special pampering, including an age-appropriate amenity package, child-size bathrobes, and baby and children’s toiletries.
Guestrooms at the Four Seasons Las Vegas are located on five floors (Floors 35–39 of the 72 Story Mandalay Bay Hotel) and are accessed by private express elevators. Rooms exude a residential feel, with upholstered chairs and ottomans and executive desks. Down comforters, triple sheeting, and 300-thread-count Frette linens ensure comfortable sleeping.
In addition to 42-inch plasma TVs, guestrooms have complimentary HBO and Cinemax, VCRs, and DVD players. Movie rentals are available at the concierge desk. Complimentary newspaper choices are The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, or a local Las Vegas newspaper. High-speed Internet access (surcharge) is available, and in-room safes accommodate laptop computers. Marble bathrooms feature a separate soaking tub and shower and L’Occitane bath amenities. Small pets are welcome (deposit required).
Guest Testimonial: Great room service and restaurant (Verandah) – the food is quite good here and very child friendly. The weekend breakfast buffet is good. Not the biggest selection compared to the Vegas buffets, but the quality is superb. Personally, I prefer a smaller selection with excellent food than a big selection with ok food. Again, great service.
Kids are made to feel so welcome here. When we arrived at our room, my two sons were greeted in the entry foyer with a plate filled with a chocolate puzzle, M&M’s and gummy bears (for each of them). The plates had their names written in chocolate. In the bath, their names were spelled out with lettered sponges and they each received their own child-friendly shower kit. There were even child robes for each of them. They also provided very comfy slippers to wear in the room and my kids loved them (even if they were meant for the adults). My 7 year old son stated that this was the best hotel ever!
Top 2 Budget Minded Family Friendly Las Vegas Hotels
We fully understand that everyone does not have the resources to drop $100+ a night on a Hotel Room. With this in mind we can recommend to you 2 Hotel properties that offer clean, comfortable, affordable upscale Family Accommodations. You simply can’t find a better value at any other Las Vegas area Hotels.
- The Orleans – Great Room Size and Value for YOUR Money
Rates at the Orleans start in the $30 range for weeknights. We had a family member choose to stay at the Orleans on a Wednesday and Thursday night and paid only $43 a night! The Orleans is located in a nice part of town exactly 1.5 miles from “The Strip” and offers free shuttle service to the Strip Hotels. One terrific feature of the Orleans is the size of the rooms is generally 100 sq feet larger than most Hotels. The Orleans also offers some good dining values nearby. So if you’re looking for a good Hotel at a great rate we recommend you investigate The Orleans Hotel.
Guest Testimonial: Over the past five years, my family has visited Las Vegas 3 times. We always stay at the Orleans because for the price you can’t beat it. Our entire 3-night stay cost $135 + tax, and the rooms are really big. The pool is nice, there are many restaurants on the premises and lots of fun things for the kids, including a movie theater, a games arcade and bowling. We have never been disappointed.
- The Stratosphere Tower – Inexpensive on Far North End of Strip
The Stratosphere Tower offers clean comfortable rooms at extremely affordable prices. We’ve seen weekday prices as low as $29 a night! Keep in mind this is before taxes and fees (But all the Hotels advertise their prices before taxes and fees). Some rooms offer terrific views! The Stratosphere offers 3 Top of the Tower Thrill rides your children may love. The Stratosphere would be one of our Top overall choices if it were not located so far North on the Strip. And while is is physically possible to walk from the Stratosphere to the main part of “The Strip”, it would be extremely tiring, especially for youngsters. You’ll need to catch the bus, or have an automobile to access the rest of The Strip from the Stratosphere.
